Note from the manufacturer
Power is first routed to the battery(s), which then feed power to the Mark 2. When two batteries are connected to the dock, and power is being supplied via the AC adapter, the batteries will charge and the Mark 2 will be supplied with enough power to operate. If only one battery is connected, the Mark 2 will still function properly, however the single battery will function essentially as a pass through and not be charged.
