Its hand forged, drop point, triple laminated stainless steel blade is strong and comes with a razor sharp Scandinavian grind right out of the box.  The slim, curly birch wood handle yields positive control for carving and locks the blade in place securely when its in your pocket, backpack or the included custom leather belt sheath.

This is worth the money

My kids, bless their hearts, gave me this knife for Fathers Day. I had heard of the quality of Norwegian steel, and was not surprised at the quality of the blade. What did surprise me was the quality of the whole package, a perfect marriage of the components that make this knife. Firstly the blade is strong… due largely to the thickness of the spine of the blade, approximately an eighth of an inch thick. However the cutting edge of the blade is incredibly sharp a sign of a great finish. The locking mechanism, important with a blade this sharp, is firm and positive. The locking mechanism is also as thick as the spine adding to the strength of the product. This makes unlocking the blade a bit difficult, but the increased safety is worth it. Finally, if I have any concern it would be with the birch handle. I have no experience with this wood, and I pray it will last longer than I will. It is just nice to hold a balanced tool of this quality. It comes nicely packaged by Helle with a leather sheath, polishing rag, and complete instructions.
